Abstract: In this paper, inspired by the concept of \(\alpha\)-admissibility developed in metric fixed point theory, we introduce the concepts of \(\alpha\)-nonexpansive and \(\alpha\)-asymptotically nonexpansive mappings in normed spaces and present some fixed point theorems for such mappings. The approach here carries forward and improves the results obtained for monotone nonexpansive and monotone asymptotically nonexpansive mappings.
